Since Maths is an abstract subject based on facts rather than personal opinions and emotions, it is an excellent vehicle to give students the chance to practise as well as develop all the mental skills necessary to tackle any type of job, not solely as an end in itself because that is exactly why so many students cannot possibly be motivated.
